Ford is late to come into the electric space, but they are aiming at the right sector first: commercial fleet. Ford Transit Connect comes on market next year and will be followed by Ford Focus EV. Both are based on Lithium ion technology and developing their production sites in Michigan. Renault from France will roll out its full EV Van next year and Mercedes has announced its E Cell Van as well. Commercial fleets will bring us necessary volume to reduce prices of the batteries further down for EV mass market adoption.
